We have a Gothic Victorian block tile designed by A. Pugin and manufactured by Minton. Circa 1870-1880’s
The tile is 6″ x 6″ and is framed in solid oak. The back is open to reveal the original manufacturing marks from the famous Minton studio in Stoke-on Trent , England. This particular tile came from an old Dublin, Ireland home.
We have bought this tile ourselves from Ireland and can attest to its authenticity. Absolutely gorgeous colors- no cracks or chips…great condition for the age of the piece.
will look brilliant on a den or library wall. Pugin was an English architect, designer, artist and critic, chiefly remembered for his pioneering role in the Gothic Revival style; his work culminated in the interior design of the Palace of Westminster. Pugin designed many churches in England, and some in Ireland and Australia. Hill, 2007, God’s Architect: Pugin and the Building of Romantic Britain, List of Works, pp. 501–528.
