We are in Ireland in the Irish workshop right now and are listing this redesigned & repurposed wine rack for €265 reduced from €335 for the Christmas season. The description can be found on our Irish facebook page shttps://www.facebook.com/period.pieces. Mindya, the table was repurposed from a very bold mahagony dresser..this type of mahogany is very old and you really cannot get this high a quality wood any longer….it could be very old Honduras but our craftsman was very impressed with the wood….the patina of this piece is gorgeous and the colors do not show up well. The full on piece is the closest in the true color.
The tiles are authentic Victorain fireplace tiles made by Maw & Co…Shropshire England but also refurbishedfrom an Irish washand basin back splash
I can see this piece in a kitchen, hallway, conservatory in a hig rise city apartment or in a country cottage
John had this piece of hand carved wood in the workshop which he cleaned and sealed. It might have been part of a carved plant stand but we are unsure. Perhaps Chines or even Anglo Indian- he believes it was from the Victorian period. Any thoughts????
This gorgeous box has been redesigned from vintage treadle sewing machine drawers into a great cabinet. We have added solid oak feet and top but all the detailing on this pieces is original. The turned side pieces are especially beautiful and unique. This would look great in your kitchen for spices or on your dresser for your jewelry. I’m sure you could find even more ways to display this beautiful box
We are asking $120.00 for this item by direct sale. However we will also have this available through a local design studio. Alter’d Relics is a very eclectic design studio in Barberton, Ohio. Please contact us here at Redsign Antiques if you have any questions
We have bought some very rare and gorgeous antique Victorian Fireplace Tiles over from Ireland. John had a cast iron fireplace store in Dublin many years ago and kept the tiles. He has handmade hardwood frames for the tiles.Fireplace tiles from the 1800 and early 1900 are very collectible items and cam be quite expensive depending on the manufacturer.
Currently we have two framed sets of three tiles with separators and two single tiles. The flowers set are what is known as transfer tiles set into a walnut frame. We have a set of art nouveau/tube line shamrock tiles we just re-framed in maple available also. [ see the history section on fireplaces & tiles]
The one single tile is the typical size of 6 x 6 and is a majorica tube lined sunflower pattern- says England on the back and has a lot of soot staining- which proves its authencitiy.
The single pattern tile is 8″ x 8″ and is a special tile- An A W N Pugin for Minton & Co design dating from the 1840s or 1850s the tile itself was made in the 1870s or 1880s by Mintons China Works.
